The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officially known as the City of Los Angeles Police Department, is the municipal police department of Los Angeles, California.
Headquarters Building[]
During Enos' time in L.A. as an officer, the HQ was located at Parker Center, which stood at 150 N. Los Angeles St. in the Downtown Los Angeles Civic Center district. It was demolished in 2019.
8th Precinct[]
Enos worked in the 8th Precinct on the Enos (TV series). This probably refers to Los Angeles City Council District 8.
District 8 is one of the 15 districts of the Los Angeles City Council, representing much of western South Los Angeles.
At the time Enos was in L.A. District 8 ran in a north-south line in South-Central Los Angeles, from Adams and Jefferson Blvds. on the north, to Normandie and Central Avenue on the west, 118th St. on the south, and Arlington and Van Ness on the west.
[It] suffers some of the worst crime, unemployment and housing problems in the city."[1]
This was from 1975 to 1991.
Metro Special Branch[]
Enos was said to be an officer with the Metro Special Branch. He was asked to join because his heroics were known nation-wide. The Special Branch was created as part of Lt. Brogi's project. The program was designed to bring a number of unique people who would not normally be accepted into the LAPD to create more diversity in the force.
